Do I need a doctor’s referral to access services at Hands On Physical Therapy?
In New Mexico you can see a physical therapist without a doctor’s referral. Some insurances, however, do require prior authorization of physical therapy visits in order to receive the insurance coverage. You will need to check with your individual insurance provider to determine whether or not you need this prior approval.
How long will my visits be?
Your first visit will be between an hour to 1 ½ hours. Subsequent visits are 1 hour long.
How many times a week will i need to come?
Your physical therapist will recommend the frequency of your visits. Most often patients come two times a week, others come weekly. As they improve, the frequency usually decreases.
